On Jan the 31st the Strategic and Operational plan submitted for approval. The plan foresees research and development of 4 economy sectors, namely: Information Technology, Tourism, Value Add Agriculture services and financial Instruments in the form of Financial Structures & tools. Within the plan framework a Business Observatory is to be established in order to measure trends in the aforementioned industries. Following Markets observation, a focused structure of subsidies will promote the develoment of products and value add services for those developed Markets only. At the same time there will be a large scale initiative for the attraction of "super star" International companies in the region. For that reason a free service Zone is to be set within the area of the greater Thessaloniki. It is expected that a couple of hundred local firms will surround those International giants, creating a critical mass for development and International competitiviness.
