TREK to design the PPP/PFI Strategic Plan for the Prefecture of Thessaloniki

The Prefecture of Thessaloniki (www.nath.gr) was seeking for a holistic approach to the PPP/PFI instruments, introduced lately to the Greek financial stage. Public Private Partnership is a newly born platform for the macroeconomic development of central and especially regional Authorities. Since mid October TREK designs the Strategic Plan for PPP/PFI framework for the benefit of the Thessaloniki Prefecture Authority.
Many Governmental and Regional Authorities visualize the Private - Public Partnership (PPP) or the Private Financed Initiative (PFI) as a means for the construction of an underground parking! It is not only that. Large scale Regional Authorities require a rigid and systematic approach of their macro-develoment using PPP/PFI instruments. Prefecture of Thessaloniki realized the importance of the newly established financial means of develoment and moves towards the direction of a Strategic Plan along with a practical operational plan for a series of PPP/PFI initiatives.

TREK undertakes the job as of mid October 2006. Work deliverable is a solid and tangible decision tree approach for a number of future large projects for the benefit of citizens of Thessaloniki . Besides a go/no-go proposition based on social, financial and regional development metrics, a handful of new project-cases will be examined thoroughly on whether those could be upon the PPP/PFI umbrella.
