Innovation for SMEs in the E.U. - Med Area. Technical assistance for the Region of Central Macedonia
TREK to support Innovative actions for SMEs in the E.U. Mediterranean region.The project under the acronym "WIDE" is set to provide strengthening of the organizational innovation, in order to increase the competitiveness faced to challenges of the international concurrence. TREK supports the Region of Central Macedonia into providing Public authorities and policy makers of the involved regions, namely Spain, Italy, Greece and France, solutions of public-private partnership. The goal set is to improve the coordination among the key-actors involved in the Micro and SMEs innovation process and to embrace development of shared methodologies to support the organizational innovation and the internationalization of enterprises in the euro-med area.

SME Development & co-operative economy for the Region of Epirus-Western Macedonia, GR
TREK to execute a Pan-european project initiative for the development of various types of co-operative economy schemes led by SMEs and other Public and Utility entities, at local and regional level. The project deals with the creation of a cross country network of SMEs and co-op economy entities, aiming towards empowerment and exploitation of  cooperative economy into the local, regional and National economy Policies. Duration of the project is 18 months and Contracting Authority is the Decentralized Region of Epirus-Western Macedonia. Project budget is 94.500 euro.

TREK to execute a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative for the Region of Thessaly
Following tender procedure TREK has been awarded by the Region of Thessaly a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) intitiative project, focusing on Regional Policies for Responsible Development: evaluation of CSR and economic performance in the MED area. The project evaluates the connection between Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and levels of innovation and competitiveness in the Mediterranean Area (MED). In this context, 9 partners from 6 E.U. states collaborate within Responsible MED project to exchange knowledge on CSR. This exchange, including interactive workshops, study visits and stakeholder involvement, helps to identify means of increasing economic competitiveness, whilst moving away from negative practices and working conditions. It forms the basis of the methodology development, testing and capitalization phases.
The concrete project output is a common methodology to evaluate and monitor levels of competitiveness in SMEs involved in CSR, in comparison to those who are not. The methodology is linked to an on-line database and tool, to ensure continuous data collection, comparison and ease of access. It is applied in real life situations, in SMEs, in all partner territories.

Government - Business Interoperability consultancy for the Hellenic Enterprises Federation (SEV)
TREK Consulting, along with Deloitte Consulting, have been awarded by the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV) a contract aiming  to indentify key administrative burdens in government to business relations. Project is within the framework of Public Reform Re-organization targeted towards the re-oreientation & restructuring of the Public Sector in Greece.

TREK to design plan for Business Park / Incubator in Central Greece
TREK has been awarded the design of a feasibility and viability study dealing with the creation of a Business Park / Incubator within the geographical limits of Central Greece (Region of Sterea Ellada). Among other topics of the study is the examination of alternative locations for the establishment of the Park, as well as the detailed components comprising the associated feasibility and viability plan. Beneficiaries of the project are the business community of the region and relative business support structures of entrepreneurship and innovation. The 100.000 euro project expects to boost local economy and embrace mobility of entrepreneurship in the region.

HYPERTECH, the Technology arm of TREK Group, awarded the development of the National Hellenic portal for SME
Following international open tender, HYPERTECH, a wholly owned subsidiary of TREK, awarded by the Hellenic SME Organization - Ministry of Development, the creation of the National SME Portal observatory. The project is 607.000 euro with duration of 15 months.

Success continued for "a best practice E.U. awarded project"
Following success of a Transnational E.U. project, promoting access of SMEs to the Information knowledge (acr: EMBRACE), TREK awarded expansion of the best practice project (acr: EMBRACE II).  TREK is the lead partner of the 1.8M Euro project, aiming towards the SME access to the Infomation Society, especially those in distant and remote locations all across Europe. Project is promoted by the INTERREG IIIB CADSES initiative.

Developing the Russian SMEs - A 2,5M euro project delivered
TREK Consulting, as a consortium member, has sucessfully delivered by March 2006 a substantial project for new business and political framework for the Small & Medium size Enterprises of North-Western Russia. Started in June 2004 and budgeted with some 2.500.000# a new approach of doing business in accordance with the E.U. standards, along with practical tools for assessing the SME sector, is on the run.

Technical assistance to the government & SMEs of Serbia (FRY)
TREK Consulting and its subsidiary HYPERTECH provides technical assistance to the Serbian Government Sector for the creation of an innovative business environment in the country. A set of tools for subsidy programs in the technology sector and a business plan for the cooperation with the International donors' community is part of the project deliverables. At the same time TREK Consulting support the Private sector with the design and operation of a virtual knowledge incubation facility for the Serbian enterprises. The 1.050.000# project is supported by the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs and represents the largest bilateral Hellenic development program in the Balkans.Project sucessfully ended by late 2005.

Embracing the new business environment to remote E.U. enterprises
The project "EMBRACE" aims to design, develop and implement specific spatial development policies, initiatives and actions for the benefit of SMEs located in rural and undeveloped urban areas, in order to increase their access to Knowledge and the Information Society. The ultimate goal is to overcome existing barriers that these SMEs face, by providing assistance and value-added advisory, e-commerce and info rmation services, which can boost their efficiency and competitiveness, and lead to the development of transnational cooperation and globalization of activities.

Urban restructuring of the Municipality of Karditsa
The Municipality of Karditsa is restructuring and modernizing its commercial centre. A new urban planning scheme, reconstruction work in the surrounding areas and an architectural plan will be carried out. In parallel, a social policy programme is being implemented, including training of the unemployed and increasing the use of IT in managing the area's cultural heritage.
