SME Development & co-operative economy for the Region of Epirus-Western Macedonia, GR
TREK to execute a Pan-european project initiative for the development of various types of co-operative economy schemes led by SMEs and other Public and Utility entities, at local and regional level. The project deals with the creation of a cross country network of SMEs and co-op economy entities, aiming towards empowerment and exploitation of  cooperative economy into the local, regional and National economy Policies. Duration of the project is 18 months and Contracting Authority is the Decentralized Region of Epirus-Western Macedonia. Project budget is 94.500 euro.

TREK to execute a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative for the Region of Thessaly
Following tender procedure TREK has been awarded by the Region of Thessaly a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) intitiative project, focusing on Regional Policies for Responsible Development: evaluation of CSR and economic performance in the MED area. The project evaluates the connection between Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and levels of innovation and competitiveness in the Mediterranean Area (MED). In this context, 9 partners from 6 E.U. states collaborate within Responsible MED project to exchange knowledge on CSR. This exchange, including interactive workshops, study visits and stakeholder involvement, helps to identify means of increasing economic competitiveness, whilst moving away from negative practices and working conditions. It forms the basis of the methodology development, testing and capitalization phases.
The concrete project output is a common methodology to evaluate and monitor levels of competitiveness in SMEs involved in CSR, in comparison to those who are not. The methodology is linked to an on-line database and tool, to ensure continuous data collection, comparison and ease of access. It is applied in real life situations, in SMEs, in all partner territories.

TREK to assess green energy potential in Rodopi area, Northern Greece
TREK Consulting has been awarded the assignment to analyze and evaluate the wind energy potential in the mountainous area of the Municipality of Komotini, Rodopi Region, GRE, in order to promote the feasibility for the deployment of a wind park and assess its technical and economic characteristics. Towards this goal TREK will examine numerous funding opportunities from international and national funding sources and relative donors.

Technical Assistance & Advisory Services to the Region of Sterea Ellada, GR
As of August 2009, TREK has been appointed by the Regional Authority of Sterea Ellada (Central Greece) / Managing Authority for the ROP Sterea Ellada 2007-2013 to offer technical assistance and special advisory services in the field of Culture and Sustainable Development for the benefit of Prefectures, Municipalities and other public organizations within the limits of the Region.

Budget is at the order of 150.000 euro and duration up to the end of 2010.

TREK provides technical assistance to the Managing Authority of CIP Interreg IIIC South for the closure of the programme
INTERREG IIIC 2000-2006 is an EU-funded programme that helps Europe's regions form partnerships to work together on common projects. By sharing knowledge and experience, these partnerships enable the regions involved to develop new solutions to economic, social and environmental challenges. To simplify programme management, the territory of the EU is divided into four programme zones (North, East, South and West).
The CIP Interreg IIIC - South Zone represents the biggest part of Interreg IIIC in financial terms but also in terms of approved operations. In particular, co-financing from ERDF reached the amount of 138 M euro (almost 45% of the whole Interreg IIIC), while the approved operations counted 85 (31% of the whole Interreg IIIC).
The Managing Authority (MA) of CIP Interreg IIIC South is the Regional Government of Valencia (Spain).

TREK to design plan for Business Park / Incubator in Central Greece
TREK has been awarded the design of a feasibility and viability study dealing with the creation of a Business Park / Incubator within the geographical limits of Central Greece (Region of Sterea Ellada). Among other topics of the study is the examination of alternative locations for the establishment of the Park, as well as the detailed components comprising the associated feasibility and viability plan. Beneficiaries of the project are the business community of the region and relative business support structures of entrepreneurship and innovation. The 100.000 euro project expects to boost local economy and embrace mobility of entrepreneurship in the region.

Integrated Urban Development Plan for the Municipality of Igoumenitsa, Region of Epirus - GR
Within the context of integrated interventions for urban regeneration aiming to enhance the attractiveness of urban areas, TREK has been appointed to deliver an Operational Plan for the Integrated Urban Development of the Municipality of Igoumenitsa, in Epirus region of Greece. The plan aims towards a holistic and integrated approach of Spatial Planning for the city, comprising both the human and infrastructure elements.

e-Services & IT infrastructure for the Prefecture of Grevena, Nortwestern Greece
HYPERTECH SA, the technology & IT arm of TREK Consulting, undertakes the development of a full spectrum e-services and related IT nfrastructure for the benefit of the Prefecture of Grevena and its citizens, a remote area in NorthWestern part of Macedonia, Greece. Duration of the project is 5 months budgeted at 213Keuros.

TREK undertakes evaluation of proposals for the INTERREG IVC
TREK senior executives are appointed by the Joint Technical Secretariat of INTERREG IVC and the Managing Authority based in Lille France, to assess and evaluate proposals under the INTERREG IVC RFP announced earlier this year. It was the 1st call for proposals within the new program period. According to information (not binding) final results are expected in 4Q this year.

TREK to draft the 2007-2013 Operational Regional Plan for the Evia (Central Greece) Region
TREK has been awarded the preparation of the Operational Strategic Plan (OP) for the Evia Region, Central Greece, with beneficiary the Association of Local Municipalities. Furthermore, TREK has been awarded the drafting of the OP for the Prefecture of Evia. Both Plans refer to the 4th Framework 2007-2013.

Technical Assistance to 54 Hellenic Prefectures for "e-Urban Planning"
TREK awarded Technical assistance services for the implementation of e-Government applications to Urban Planning departments in all the 54 Hellenic Prefectures. The project goal is to provide electronic services in every single Urban Planning Department in Greece. Within the project scope is the delivery of GIS systems, along with digital maps, the creation of spatial data bases and the retrieval of street and town planning data in digital and multi-vector format. Project duration is 16 months and budget at 451.000 euro.

TREK to implement Socio-economic cohesion Technical assistance project to the Region of Central Macedonia
TREK has awarder Technical assistance to the Regional Authority of Central Macedonia, Greece for the development and monitoring of Labor and post-Immigration related policy and action planning. The project, namely IMMENSITY focuses on the social and economic inclusion of legal economic immigrants and repatriatesin destination countries, with specific focus on women population. TREK provided Strategic, scientific and technical advisory services as well as administrative co-ordination. This program is under the funding umbrella of INTERREG IIIB- CADSES.

The 2007-2013 cross border Greece-Bulgaria Strategic Plan appointed to TREK
Within the forthcoming 2007-2013 period, TREK appointed by the CIP INTERREG the design of the Strategic Plan for cross border/common area intiative between Greece and Bulgaria. The program consists of situation analysis, common area SWOT, risk assesment and evaluation, as well as definition of areas of intervention, geographical coverage, budget allocation, cash flow analysis and required operational structures for program realization. Characteristic of this new "cross border" cooperation is the fact that common interest initiatives are to be performed as if it were a unified and single Region of intervention. It is expected that Southern Bulgaria and Macedonia & Thrace will benefit from this initiative, both on the Public interest and the Private SME & Innovation side. Submission of the Plan for approval by the Commission is expected early summer this year. Project sponsors are the Ministry of Economy (GR), the Ministry of Regional Development (BG) and the DG Regio (E.C).

TREK assigned Technical assitance project to 456 e-gov Portals for local Authorities in Greece
TREK Consulting awarded a 20-month contract for the provision of technical assistance and expertise, for the development of Internet portals for 456 Local Authorities all over Greece. The project administered by the Information Society, Governmental National Body  (http://www.ktpae.gr/)  has a budget of 790.000 euros. The project is divided in five (5) subprojects, each one of the subprojects  covering each of the five big geographical areas of Greece : Attica, Peloponessos and Western Greece, Macedonia and Thrace, Sterea Ellada and Thessaly and Epirus, Aegean islands and Crete.

The Government of Bosnia & Herzegovina assigns its National Employment Policy to TREK
As of February 2007, TREK has been assigned the work to design and implement Bosnia's National Employment Policy reform. The 1,1 million euro project foresees the development of employment policy tools at National level and Strategic formulation of specific action plan for the reduction of unemployment rate. It is estimated that Bosnia has an average 30% unemployment rate, with 25% of the population below the poverty line. Project goal is to reduce at substantial volume those indices.

TREK to design and co-ordinate a 26Meuro Global Grant initiative for Regional Competitiviness
In June 2006 TREK proposed to a number of Local and Governmental Authorities a Regional Development Plan for the Thessaloniki greater area, under the Global Grant Intitiative funded by the E.C. and the Hellenic Government. The 26M euro plan is the creation of a "Network for International Cometitiviness in Thessaloniki" exclusively to the Markets of U.S., Western Europe and the Far East developed economies. On Jan the 31st the Strategic and Operational plan submitted for approval. Besides modeling and project co-ordination, TREK is the Technical Advisor to the consortium consisting of: Prefecture of Thessaloniki, Ministry of Macedonia-Thrace, Region of Central Macedonia, National Employment Organization(OAED), National Organization for Export promotion, The Athens Stock Exchange, National Syndication of Agriculture and the Center for Research & Technology Hellas.

TREK to design the PPP/PFI Strategic Plan for the Prefecture of Thessaloniki
The Prefecture of Thessaloniki (www.nath.gr) was seeking for a holistic approach to the PPP/PFI instruments, introduced lately to the Greek financial stage. Public Private Partnership is a newly born platform for the macroeconomic development of central and especially regional Authorities. Since mid October TREK designs the Strategic Plan for PPP/PFI framework for the benefit of the Thessaloniki Prefecture Authority.

Developing the Russian SMEs - A 2,5M euro project delivered
TREK Consulting, as a consortium member, has sucessfully delivered by March 2006 a substantial project for new business and political framework for the Small & Medium size Enterprises of North-Western Russia. Started in June 2004 and budgeted with some 2.500.000# a new approach of doing business in accordance with the E.U. standards, along with practical tools for assessing the SME sector, is on the run.

Success continued for "a best practice E.U. awarded project"
Following success of a Transnational E.U. project, promoting access of SMEs to the Information knowledge (acr: EMBRACE), TREK awarded expansion of the best practice project (acr: EMBRACE II).  TREK is the lead partner of the 1.8M Euro project, aiming towards the SME access to the Infomation Society, especially those in distant and remote locations all across Europe. Project is promoted by the INTERREG IIIB CADSES initiative.

Managing Economic Change for the European Social Fund(ESF)
TREK is project shareholder and co-ordinator of a European Commission, ESF Article-6 initiative, budgeted for 1.3M #. PRO-CHANGE, the project acronym, (www.e-prochange.net) aims to contribute to the management of change, in terms of enhancing readiness to respond to the economic and social restructuring. It intends to create anticipation mechanisms that will enhance the capacity of local stakeholders and actors to be timely prepared and to effectively respond to the challenges and opportunities of restructuring process. It will seek to establish collaboration frameworks at the regional and transnational level, aiming to transfer knowledge and capitalize on the lessons learnt from past ESF initiatives, while adding value to existing structures and strategies.

Restructuring and technological upgrading of the Hellenic Ministry of Macedonia and Thrace
On the 1 st January 2005 TREK Consulting undertook an 18-month assignment to provide Strategic Advice and Technical Support to the Ministry for the identification and examination of the factors influencing the development of Northern Greece and the Balkans, and the creation of functional-technical specifications for an Integrated Information System which will monitor and support development strategy in this region.

Technical assistance to the government & SMEs of Serbia (FRY)
TREK Consulting and its subsidiary HYPERTECH provides technical assistance to the Serbian Government Sector for the creation of an innovative business environment in the country. A set of tools for subsidy programs in the technology sector and a business plan for the cooperation with the International donors' community is part of the project deliverables. At the same time TREK Consulting support the Private sector with the design and operation of a virtual knowledge incubation facility for the Serbian enterprises. The 1.050.000# project is supported by the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs and represents the largest bilateral Hellenic development program in the Balkans.Project sucessfully ended by late 2005.

Urban restructuring of the Municipality of Karditsa
The Municipality of Karditsa is restructuring and modernizing its commercial centre. A new urban planning scheme, reconstruction work in the surrounding areas and an architectural plan will be carried out. In parallel, a social policy programme is being implemented, including training of the unemployed and increasing the use of IT in managing the area's cultural heritage.
