HYPERTECH, the Technology branch of TREK Consulting Group, to develop Digital Interactive Applications for the State Museum of Contemporary Arts, Greece
Following international tendering procedure, HYPERTECH has been appointed by the State Contemporary Museum of Modern Arts, to design and develop interactive digital applications for the promotion an presenation of the Museum's cultural treasures. Based in the city of Thessaloniki, is placed among the top museums in Europe in the modern and post modern era, with numerous collection of post-modern paintings and artifacts -among others- V. Kandinsky collection. The project enhance the on-site experience of the visitor by introducing new technologcal tools for navigation, access and interoperability with the exhibits. Further, HYPERTECH is to expand the existing interactive portal into a new more advanced tool for presentation and interaction with virtual visitors, all across the globe.

TREK Group enters "Intelligent Energy" Research projects
Energy consumption & efficiency is a top technological priority among Western countries all across the Globe. E.U. policies promotes "smart" energy usage, thus a large scale Initiative, named Intelligent energy, is set into action for the optimal energy saving and performance.

Hypertech SA, the Technology branch of TREK Consulting Group, expands its Technological activities by entering the highly promising area of Intelligent use of energy, namely smart grids, algorithmic measure of energy, etc. Following those efforts, Hypertech awarded by the European Commission a top-R&D project in the area of Intelligent Energy. The so called  ADAPT4EE (Occupant Aware, Intelligent and Adaptive Enterprises) project under the FP7 Programme "ICT Solutions for Energy Efficiency" was ranked #1 among all proposals submitted and evaluated.

The project is a highly sophisticated applied research platform that measures and evaluates energy performance, hence energy needs at any given time within large indoor spaces occupied by people. Based on the inhabitant's presence and occupancy behavior, along with specific design parameters of the indoor space, a large scale complex algorithms evaluate energy needs at any given time interval. As a result, an energy consumption system (building, factory, etc) will be able to store and consume exactly the energy which is needed at any given moment. This is a significant step towards energy efficiency especially in large facilities, such as venues, Public buildings, hospitals, Malls and other indoor facilities.
The project has a duration of 34 months and a total budget of 3,600,000 euros.

Virtual Reality R&D project for HYPERTECH, the Technology brand of TREK
HYPERTECH, the Technology brand of TREK Group, awarded -as a consortium member- a four year contract by EU, aiming to develop a new enviroment and tools for software development based on Virtual Reality technologies. The project named "VERITAS" ( Virtual and Augmented Environments and Realistic User Interactions to achieve Embedded Accessibility Designs)  with a budget of 8 million euros will be implemented by a consortium of 32 european organisations, among them R&D centers, universities and companies.

TREK to design plan for Business Park / Incubator in Central Greece
TREK has been awarded the design of a feasibility and viability study dealing with the creation of a Business Park / Incubator within the geographical limits of Central Greece (Region of Sterea Ellada). Among other topics of the study is the examination of alternative locations for the establishment of the Park, as well as the detailed components comprising the associated feasibility and viability plan. Beneficiaries of the project are the business community of the region and relative business support structures of entrepreneurship and innovation. The 100.000 euro project expects to boost local economy and embrace mobility of entrepreneurship in the region.

e-Services & IT infrastructure for the Prefecture of Grevena, Nortwestern Greece
HYPERTECH SA, the technology & IT arm of TREK Consulting, undertakes the development of a full spectrum e-services and related IT nfrastructure for the benefit of the Prefecture of Grevena and its citizens, a remote area in NorthWestern part of Macedonia, Greece. Duration of the project is 5 months budgeted at 213Keuros.

Business Games via web for High School & University students - Ministry of Education, GR
General Secretariat for Youth, Ministry of Education, GR, appoints TREK Consulting the design, development, operation and management of Business Games Portal for young students from Secondary schools and Universities all across Greece.
Purpose of the project is the operation of three types of entrerpeneurship plans and business competitions, with different levels of characteristics, addressing to all the youth community and students. This ambitious project was built on the idea of Business Games, realized through the World Wide Web. Project duration is set to three month period.

Integrated Quality Management System for Structrural Funds 2007-2013 to the Prefecture of Thessaloniki, GR
As of November 2008, TREK Consulting has been appointed technical assistance services to the Prefecture of Thessaloniki for the design, implementation and adoption of an integrated Quality Management System according to the requirements set by the Hellenic Governement in view of managing all projects to be co-financed by horizontal and regional operational programmes included in the National Strategic Reference Framework 2007-2013. With this occassion, the required Business Process Management processes will be put in place for further enhancing the Prefecture's administrative efficiency. A full set of rules and procedures will be supported via an enhanced Process Management platform software. Proect duration is 6 months at a budget of 240.000 euros

Technical Assistance to 54 Hellenic Prefectures for "e-Urban Planning"
TREK awarded Technical assistance services for the implementation of e-Government applications to Urban Planning departments in all the 54 Hellenic Prefectures. The project goal is to provide electronic services in every single Urban Planning Department in Greece. Within the project scope is the delivery of GIS systems, along with digital maps, the creation of spatial data bases and the retrieval of street and town planning data in digital and multi-vector format. Project duration is 16 months and budget at 451.000 euro.

HYPERTECH, the Technology subsidiary of TREK, awarded by the Karditsa Municipality the digitization of its cultural archives
Municipal Authority of karditsa, Central Greece, posseses the cultural heritage of the Municipal Folklore Museum "L. & N Sakellariou" of Karditsa. It is among the most prestigious folklore Museums in Greece, with its main collection focusing on traditional uniforms, jewels, household articles, manuscripts, and works of art donated by famous local artists such as the paintings of D. Gioldasis. TREK was awarded the full scale digitization and documentation of hundreds of collection items (paintings, household articles, jewels, books, manuscripts, etc.) along with the creation of the museum's portal. Project is budgeted at 100.000 euros, with 6 months duration.

Following international open tender, HYPERTECH, a wholly owned subsidiary of TREK, awarded by the Hellenic SME Organization - Ministry of Development, the creation of the National SME Portal observatory. The project is 607.000 euro with duration of 15 months.

Design and Technical Assitance for the development of Schengen VISA Information System
The 1985 Schengen Agreement is an agreement among European states which allows for the abolition of systematic border controls between the participating countries. It also includes provisions on common policy on the temporary entry of persons (including the Schengen Visa), the harmonisation of external border controls and cross-border police co-operation. "Schengen countries", are obliged to cope with Pan-European standards concerning VISA issue and relative management procedures. The new system will allow deployment and facilitation of common procedures across Europe, more flexibility and interoperability among Schengen terittories. To this purpose TREK awarded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Greece the design and monitor of implementation of the new VISA Information System, according to Pan-european standards and interoperability. Within the 20 month project scope is the design of the IS system, Telecommunications and Infrastructure identification for purchase and production of functional as well as Technical specs. Project foresees also assesment study on security issues, roll-out to 120 Consulates across the globe, Publicity and awareness actions, as well as Technical asssistance for the smooth project implementation. Budget is 665.000 euros.

TREK to design and operate the first National video portal for auto and real estate Industry
TREK signed an agreement with the Information Society s.a., the  Governmental National Body, for the development of the first video social networking portal for real estate and autos.
The project has a budget of 950.000 euros, with 50% of that being funded by the Greek Government Broadband Initative.

TREK assigned Technical assitance project to 456 e-gov Portals for local Authorities in Greece
TREK Consulting awarded a 20-month contract for the provision of technical assistance and expertise, for the development of Internet portals for 456 Local Authorities all over Greece. The project administered by the Information Society, Governmental National Body  (http://www.ktpae.gr/)  has a budget of 790.000 euros. The project is divided in five (5) subprojects, each one of the subprojects  covering each of the five big geographical areas of Greece : Attica, Peloponessos and Western Greece, Macedonia and Thrace, Sterea Ellada and Thessaly and Epirus, Aegean islands and Crete.

TREK to design and co-ordinate a 26Meuro Global Grant initiative for Regional Competitiviness
In June 2006 TREK proposed to a number of Local and Governmental Authorities a Regional Development Plan for the Thessaloniki greater area, under the Global Grant Intitiative funded by the E.C. and the Hellenic Government. The 26M euro plan is the creation of a "Network for International Cometitiviness in Thessaloniki" exclusively to the Markets of U.S., Western Europe and the Far East developed economies. On Jan the 31st the Strategic and Operational plan submitted for approval. Besides modeling and project co-ordination, TREK is the Technical Advisor to the consortium consisting of: Prefecture of Thessaloniki, Ministry of Macedonia-Thrace, Region of Central Macedonia, National Employment Organization(OAED), National Organization for Export promotion, The Athens Stock Exchange, National Syndication of Agriculture and the Center for Research & Technology Hellas.

The State Museum of Contemporary Art awards TREK its digitization & Portal Integration
State Museum of Contemporary Arts is among the most prestigious modern Art museums in Europe, with its main collection focusing on avant-garde and post modern art. The collection is representative of all the trends and tendencies of the Russian avant-garde community, namely, Kazimir Malevich, Vasilii Kandinsky, Liubov Popova, Vladimir Tatlin, Aleksandr Rodchenko, Ivan Kliun, Solomon Nikritin, Olga Rozanova, Varvara Stepanova, Nadezhda Udaltzova, Mikhail Matiushin, Gustav Klutsis. TREK was awarded the full scale digitization and documentation of a couple of thousands of collection items (paintings, drawings, constructions, ceramics, etc.) along with the creation of the museum's portal. Project is budgeted at 800.000 euros, with a 12 month duration.

Success continued for "a best practice E.U. awarded project"
Following success of a Transnational E.U. project, promoting access of SMEs to the Information knowledge (acr: EMBRACE), TREK awarded expansion of the best practice project (acr: EMBRACE II).  TREK is the lead partner of the 1.8M Euro project, aiming towards the SME access to the Infomation Society, especially those in distant and remote locations all across Europe. Project is promoted by the INTERREG IIIB CADSES initiative.

Restructuring and technological upgrading of the Hellenic Ministry of Macedonia and Thrace
On the 1 st January 2005 TREK Consulting undertook an 18-month assignment to provide Strategic Advice and Technical Support to the Ministry for the identification and examination of the factors influencing the development of Northern Greece and the Balkans, and the creation of functional-technical specifications for an Integrated Information System which will monitor and support development strategy in this region.

The ultimate goal is to overcome existing barriers that these SMEs face, by providing assistance and value-added advisory, e-commerce and info rmation services, which can boost their efficiency and competitiveness, and lead to the development of transnational cooperation and globalization of activities.

Technical assistance to the government & SMEs of Serbia (FRY)
TREK Consulting and its subsidiary HYPERTECH provides technical assistance to the Serbian Government Sector for the creation of an innovative business environment in the country. A set of tools for subsidy programs in the technology sector and a business plan for the cooperation with the International donors' community is part of the project deliverables. At the same time TREK Consulting support the Private sector with the design and operation of a virtual knowledge incubation facility for the Serbian enterprises. The 1.050.000# project is supported by the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs and represents the largest bilateral Hellenic development program in the Balkans.Project sucessfully ended by late 2005.
